Bryant 14s Win District!

The Bryant 14s won their District Tournament this weekend. After falling in the first game by a score of 5-3 to Pine Bluff Seabrook, the team rallied together and marched through the loser’s bracket by soundly defeating Benton by a score of 26-2, defeating Hot Springs, and defeating Seabrook in a rematch by a score of 11-9. The 14s, then, had to beat Clark County twice to take the championship. And that they did!

The 14s started off the first game of the night with a firm statement that they were there to contend by defeating Clark County by a score of 3-16 ending the game by run-rule after 5 innings. The second game started off with Clark County getting the first run in the top half of the first inning, and it looked as though it was going to be a tight ballgame. Bryant responded by scoring their own run in the bottom half to tie the game. Bryant’s defense held Clark County in the top half of the second, and in the bottom half of the second inning, Bryant went up a run to take the lead. It was all downhill from there for Clark County, as Bryant racked up 8 total runs before Clark County scored again. Clark County appeared to be poised to get back in the game by scoring 2 in the 3rd making the score 3-8; however, Bryant went on another offensive romp. In the end, the final was 4-18 with Bryant taking the District Championship.
