2012 Proposed Rules Changes

 

Under Park Rules:

Change #3 to read:  All league games stopped due to weather, and in the event of a make-up, will be considered suspended.

 

Under Make-Up Games:

Change to read:  The Park Director will reschedule all make-up games at the earliest available playing date.  With the exception, no team will play more than 3 league games in one week.  Make-up games on Sunday cannot begin prior to 1 p.m.

 

Under Player Rules:

Number rules 1, 2, and 3.

Change #3, 2nd sentence to read:  Any player, manager, coach, or spectator who is ejected from a game for any reason must appear before the Board of Directors before he/she will be allowed to return to another game as a player, manager, coach, or spectator.

Change #3 exception to read:  Any coach ejected during tournament play may participate thru the conclusion of that tournament, but must go before the Board of Directors before participation in another tournament or league game.

Add #4 to read:  Any player not participating in a BAA league will not be eligible to play in the Blue league the following season, with the exception of players that are new to the Bryant School District.

 

Under Managers and Coaches Rules

Change #1 to read:  Managers shall not schedule mandatory practices on Saturday or Sunday once the regular season has started.

 

Under Instructional Playing Rules

Change #12, 1st sentence to read:  The batter will get 5 pitches, excluding any pitch as determined by the umpire, but will continue at bat in the event of a foul ball with a maximum of 7 pitches.

Change #12, 4th sentence to read:  Should a pitched ball from the machine hit a batter, it will be ruled a no pitch unless the pitch was in the strike zone (as determined by the umpire).

#18 Take out the word absolutely.

 

Under Rookie AA Playing Rules

Change #11, 3rd sentence to read:  Should a pitched ball from the machine hit a batter, it will be ruled a no pitch unless the pitch was in the strike zone (as determined by the umpire)

Delete #17

Change #18 to #17.

 

Under Cal Ripken 10-12 Playing Rules

Change league name to Cal Ripken White.

Change #1 to read:  Each team will consist of a roster of 15-18 players and will have a AA and AAA division.  AAA rosters will consist of 15 players.  Players not listed on the AAA roster will be on the AA roster and will not be eligible to play AAA.  AA rosters will consist of 12 players.  All rosters must be submitted to the player agent prior to the first league game.

Change #2 to read:  AA & AAA teams will have a lineup of 10 players per game.  Teams will bat round robin and have free substitution with no player sitting out on defense more than one inning.

Delete #3, #4, and #5.

Change #6, #7, and #8 to #3, #4, and #5.

 

Under Time/Run Limits

Add White to end of Cal Ripken AA, Cal Ripken AAA, Babe Ruth AA, and Babe Ruth AAA.

Add the following:

Cal Ripken Blue 1 hour 45 minutes No Limit

Babe Ruth Blue 2 hours No Limit

 

Under Swing Players

Add to the end of first sentence White Divisions

#2 Add White to Cal Ripken

Add #5 to read:  Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Blue Divisions

*May swing a player from another team in same league.  Player must be the same age as the

player not attending that game.

 

Under Baseball Draft Rules

Suspend current Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth draft rules for 2012.  Draft rules for Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth White leagues will be determined by the Board of Directors after tryouts.

 

Under Reduction of Division

Suspend rules for reduction of division in Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth for the 2012 season.

 

Under Post Season Rules

Change #6 to read:  Selection Committees-All Stars will be selected by the following committees:

Babe Ruth Blue Division Managers

Babe Ruth White Division AAA Managers

Cal Ripken Blue Division Managers

Cal Ripken White Division AAA Managers

Rookie 9 year olds AAA Managers

Rookie 8 year olds AAA Managers

7 year olds Board Appointed Committee

6 and Under Board Appointed Committee

Change #7 to read:  Selection of the Cal Ripken All Star teams shall be in the following order:

Blue Division White Division

12and under  50/70 11 & 12  46/60

11 year old  50/70 10 year old  46/60

10 year old  46/60

12 and under 46/60

Change under #8 Babe Ruth to read:  Babe Ruth- To be determined by Board of Directors.

Add to #12:  Except for Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Blue Divisions.
