All make up tryouts will be at Bishop Park.

If you have not attended the Blue League (February 11th) or the White League (February 18th) tryout, you must attend this make-up tryout or you will not be placed on a team.  The only exception is in Rookie League (playing age 8 or 9) if they are returning to a team.

Also, T-Ball does NOT tryout.

ALL BABE RUTH AND CAL RIPKEN PLAYERS MUST TRY OUT AGAIN THIS YEAR DUE TO RESTRUCTURING OF BOTH LEAGUES.

All 6 & 7 year olds must tryout. 8 & 9 year olds must tryout if you are new to the program or it will be your 1st year in Rookie League.

FAILURE TO TRY OUT AS REQUIRED WILL RESULT IN THE PLAYER NOT BEING SELECTED TO A TEAM!!

In addition to registration fee, there will be an additional $250 required to play in the Blue League. The first installment of $125 is due by March 15th. The final installment of $125 is due by April 15th. The additional cost will cover uniforms, tournament entry fees and baseballs for those tournaments.

Play will consist of 1 weeknight game at Bishop Park and travel to tournaments on 3 out of 4 weekends during regular season. All effort will be made to travel to tournaments in Central Arkansas; however, one or more tournaments may require travel beyond Central Arkansas. Additional fundraising efforts may be conducted by the team to offset travel expenses such as fuel and lodging. The teams will then play in post-season Cal Ripken or Babe Ruth sanctioned tournaments. No additional uniform fee will be required as has been the case in years past.

CAL RIPKEN BLUE 10-12 PLAYING RULES

The Current Babe Ruth League Rule Book Will Apply With The Following Exceptions:

1. The Board of Directors will appoint an oversight committee of 5 people to provide general oversight including jurisdiction over the following:
1. Tryouts for League and Tournament teams
2. Selection and Assignment of a minimum of 50 players consisting of a range of 18-24 Twelve (12) year old players, 15-20 Eleven (11) year old players, and 12-15 Ten (10) year old players.
3. League teams will consist of 10 players on 5 teams.
4. Tournament teams will consist of a minimum of 10 players. Teams will be formed for the following: 10 Year Old Team, 11 Year Old Team, 12 Year Old Team, and 12 and Under Team.
5. Selection and/or approval of tournaments.
2. League playing rules will be as follows:
1. Teams will bat round robin and have free substitution with no player sitting out more than one inning.
2. No player will pitch more than six outs per week.
3. Regular Season Tournament playing rules will be as follows:
1. In pool play, teams will bat round robin and have free substitution with no player sitting out more than two innings.
2. No player will pitch more than 12 outs per tournament.

BABE RUTH BLUE 13-14 PLAYING RULES

The Current Babe Ruth League Rule Book Will Apply With The Following Exceptions:

President Michael Catton called meeting to order

Michael welcomed visitors and new members and gave a reminder of Association Membership fees being due.

Financial Report Update – Craig Harrison, Treasurer.
Concession generated net income of approx $4500! $28k expense for umpires. Craig thanked Mr. Thompson for his level of accountability for first year of profit for concession stand.

• Revenue Review:
• We will not receive $10,000 from Pepsi this year.
• Total Revenue was $181,500.
• Expense Review:
• Donated $8500 to Bryant High School for dirt.
• $30,000 per year on uniforms
• Bishop Park concession stand fix cost $8,054.
• Park improvements and reimbursable expenses of $20,000 were realized.
• Craig stated Pepsi, cisco and grill were big expenses

Michael gave a special thanks to Craig Harrison for his financial tracking support over the years.

Craig introduced Herman Thompson, 2012 concession manager. Mr. Thompson stated that we need 8 people assigned at 5:30pm. Mr Thompson requested $8,000 to start up, 1 case of baseballs left. We received a free tea machine this year. Cheese machine going to be replaced. All other equipment in good shape. We will move grill to 220 outlet. Mr. Thompson indicated Sam’s cheaper than Cisco and that we will prefer to use Sam’s when we can. Discussion on price differential on Gatorade. Michael will talk with softball. Pepsi, French fries, chicken and boxed hamburger patties. Pepsi inventory went bad after Wally hall tourney. Didn’t have fryer for French fries and chicken.

Michael thanked Mr. Thompson again for contribution already in preparation for 2012.

Rules Update: Darren Hurt: Update on rules/league structure – Special rules meeting next week. Need good turn out. 1/3 for quorum. One of biggest changes in history of program. Problem to fix dilution in Cal Ripken division and Rookie losing competitiveness and losing advanced players to other associations in Central Arkansas. Trying to offer something for these players. White divisions will be redrafted completely. Blue/white league. In subsequent years, every year will tryout for blue league. White will carry over year to year based on
supplemental. Blue league is assigned. Additional cost to play in blue. $300 over reg fee covering post season, uniforms, tourneys. Tournament host might refund cost. Board
recommends fee, but body has to approve. May have payments over term as opposed to upfront. 8-10 local tourneys before district. Will provide training for white league
coaches. Still provide and maximize play time.
Registration Update: Stephen Kincaid announced sheet going around, dates set as Jan 26th, 28th, Feb 2nd and 4th.
Stephen Kincaid reported the Manager Application form was online and active, Jason Thompson will send out to Player Agents, Selection meetings to be held at end of month.

Umpires in chief: Michael going to ask last yearʼs UICs is no one objects or had any new suggestions. No objection and no new person nominated, so Michael will reach out
to Chris Phillips and Scott Wallace. Discussion was had that Cal Ripken division had some issues.

Wally Hall Tournament Update: Proposal read by Darren Hurt. Tournament of Champions (TOC) has indicated that would agree to pay BAA $1200 per day up to $3600.
TOC will pay director for crew. BAA will control concessions and vendor fees. TOC will pay umpires, etc. Action: Tabled: Will vote on proposal next week.

Michael indicated we still have a need for a tourney host for the BAAʼs USSSA tournament.
